From the bride's perspective
I moved to London, ON in February of 2001. My brother and I started attending
the University of Western Ontario's Swing Club in March of the same year, before either of us were enrolled at the school.
There, I met a seemingly shy guy named Dan. Dan's listening skills immediately impressed me, and it wasn't long before
we were talking about all sorts of things. I tried and tried to deny I was falling in love with him, but one day I finally
admitted it... I had no idea if he liked me back, though.
Dan went back home (to Kingston) that summer, and we talked on ICQ (an Internet messenger) a
lot, flirting back and forth. When we were talking on ICQ one day that summer, he asked me if I thought there was any
chemistry between us... I couldn't believe what I was reading - he actually liked me back! Finally I said yes,
and later that summer he came to visit - We started dating on June 22nd of 2001.
After Dan graduated in the spring of 2003 he got a job in Kingston. I knew
that I would eventually move there anyway, so I decided to try and transfer to Queen's University. Lots of people
thought I was crazy - I guess it was a big leap of faith - but it was worth it. I love Kingston, and being close to
Dan is wonderful. The Phys Ed program at Queen's is also great, and I'm enjoying the university.

From the groom's perspective
I was completing my third year of university and had recently joined
the Western Swing Dancing Club. There was a dance one saturday night in March at the university bar, Mariana and
Cesar were there. I remembered seeing her and thinking there were some cute girls here. But I never worked up
the courage to ask her to dance.
The following Thursday Mariana and Cesar showed up at the clubs weekly
dance. Mariana and I talked a lot that night because there were very few people at the dance. We were instant
friends and over the next couple of weeks we began to casually flirt back and forth. It was difficult leaving her after
school had finished.
Over the summer we talked a lot on ICQ and eventually realized that we
both really liked each other. I visited her in London on June 22 and we began dating. We had a strong relationship
for the next 2 years but then I finished school. Mariana knew that I was not comfortable working in London and knew
that I wanted to move back to Kingston. She had also visited Kingston a few times and had really liked the city.
We decided that if I could get a job in Kingston she would transfer to Queen's University. I got a job, she transferred
and we have not looked back.
